A View Across The Post Office Pit.

The cottage on the extreme left was owned by Stanley Norton, shoemaker and cobbler. The Osbourn family lived next door and were related to Mr New, the baker, in the next building (and shop). The family lived in the rear and upstairs of the building. The white cottage is Rose Cottage where the Copeman family lived. The cottage was later demolished and became the Bakehouse garden. The roadsign is made of cast iron.
