This photo of children at Great Massingham Primary School was taken in November, 1976, and appeared in the popular Lynn News feature “Pupils in the Picture”. The school building, at that time, was 102 years old. There were 55 pupils on the register, with three teachers including the headmaster Mr T W Enright, and they all enjoyed spacious teaching conditions in the four main classrooms. There was also a canteen and all the meals were cooked on the premises. Outside, the school had impressive sports facilities with football and hockey pitches, a running track and numerous pieces of steel apparatus.
